Dies and calibrators are designed by our technical department, starting from the customer's specifications (drawings / samples of the profile) or providing support to the customer in the design phase of the final product.
The first step of the design phase is to analyse all the variables in order to optimize the productivity of the equipment; our strong point is to support at our best the customer in the product design phase by providing the technical advice required to obtain a quality final product.
The actual design stage follows this preliminary stage, in which are defined the geometry of the equipment and the processing steps of the raw steel block from which the final mould will be obtained.
The technical department is equipped with CAD / CAM systems developed to allow the SIMO Workshop to perform the work with the utmost accuracy and precision.
Logical consequence of careful design taking into account customer needs is the technological innovation in the production process that, through the use of high-precision CNC and technologically advanced facilities (Charmilles Technologies), is able to provide machining of very high quality and efficiency both in productive and economic terms.
High-grade materials such as stainless steel 2316, Stavax, Roy Alloy, Corrax and Moldmax are used in the construction of the equipment.
Every detail of the equipment is designed and built in-house with the utmost attention to detail. All equipment is internally tested with our own extruders and, on request, on the customer's own equipment, so as to minimise the time required for putting the equipment into production.

The company also manufactures moulds according to customer design thus carrying out the mechanical manufacturing only.
Aware of how optimal testing is the crucial point for obtaining equipment with high productivity and quality standards, SIMO has dedicated a whole department to testing, equipped with 5 extrusion lines with a capacity from 1 up to 350 kg / hour plus 4 co-extruders including a complete plant for testing of special materials such as the PA 66 loaded Fibre Glass equipped with gear pumps. Thus SIMO can test the equipment in conditions very similar to those of production.
If requested by the customer, SIMO can conduct on-site testing of the equipment made with the help of technical specialists who provide all the expertise and experience gained over fifty years of activity.
